07-NOV-2019: Vice Chancellor appeals to continue hard work as AMU maintains top slots
Aligarh, November 7: "Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) continues to set wider academic acclaim as it is included in the top universities by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, US News and World Report and India Today," said the Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor appealing teachers and students to continue hard work for further improvements.
In an address to AMU fraternity, the Vice Chancellor said: "In the past two-years, AMU has seen its best ever performance in the NIRF rankings and other prominent Indian and International rankings," said the Vice Chancellor adding that it is the result of collective and sustained efforts of faculty members, students and specially research scholars, who have played a very unique role in the academic and research advancement of the University at National and global levels.
Prof Mansoor pointed out: "Since, the best research outcomes emerge from quality publications and state-of-art teaching and research by faculty members and students; it is imperative that in the coming years, we need to consolidate our past experiences and work hard for getting quality research publications both in the form of journal articles and books."
He emphasised that worldwide recognition comes from work citations known in the world of academia of respective discipline, hence, our emphasis should be on quality of research than quantity.
"As a top ranking academic institution, we also need to focus on in-house journals, especially publishing articles in languages other than English (In the fields of humanities and languages) need to be made much more rigorous and peer-reviewed," said the Vice Chancellor.
He remarked: "Through our hard work, excellent teaching, quality publications, patents and state-of-art infrastructure, we will be able to make AMU a truly top class University in the world."
"I look forward to the continued support and cooperation from teachers and student," said Prof Mansoor.
