11-NOV-2019: IBU concludes International Conference
Aligarh, November 11: The Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit (IBU), Aligarh Muslim University concluded its three-day International Conference on 'Genomics and Proteomics Pertaining to Biological Sciences', which brought together scientists, researchers and medical development experts.
In the keynote address, Prof Seyed E Hasnain, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi delineated makeup of mycobacterium and its correlation with pathogenesis.
Prof Hasnain pointed out how highly dynamic biological theories will define the future of science.
Presiding over the function, AMU Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof Akhtar Haseeb praised IBU for successfully organising the second international conference within a year and appreciated the speeches made by key speakers.
The Chief Guest, Prof Faizan Ahmad spoke about the importance of regularly holding such conferences.
Prof Waseem Ahmad, Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences discussed breakthrough genomics and proteomics study, which is extremely useful to researchers.
"The discussions on developments and new methodologies to be applied in the area of genomics and proteomics have been highly beneficial for the participants of the conference," remarked Prof Asad U Khan, Coordinator, IBU, while thanking the resource persons from various parts of the country.
Dr Zeenat Iqbal (Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi) was conferred with the Best Oral Presentation Award and Shirish Tiwari, Department of Biochemistry, AMU was given the Best Poster Award. Dr Safia Habeeb, Dr Lama Misba, Nabeela Majid and Shamsi Khalid, Abdul Basit and Manal Khursheed also received prizes.
Prof Rizwan Khan proposed the vote of thanks, while Farheen Akhtar conducted the programme.
