Academic, Author, and Advocate for Inclusive Leadership

Dr. Juhi Gupta is a distinguished academic and social impact leader with over a decade of experience in the field of gender studies. As Senior Assistant Professor at the Advanced Centre for Women’s Studies, Aligarh Muslim University, and an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Birmingham (UK), she has consistently bridged scholarship with practice to advance gender equity and inclusive leadership across national and global contexts.

She is the Founder and President of the Inclusive Futures Foundation, an NGO focused on empowering underrepresented women through education, leadership training, and digital transformation. Currently, she is developing and delivering a 12-week government-recognized SWAYAM MOOC titled “Women and Entrepreneurship,” aimed at BA/MA students, early-stage entrepreneurs, and professionals seeking inclusive and sustainable business leadership models. This initiative aligns with India's national priorities for skilling, digital inclusion, and women-led development.

In 2025, Dr. Gupta led a flagship international leadership training program in Kathmandu titled “Women Managers in the Age of AI and Digital Transformation”, in partnership with the Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI), and hosted the Women in Leadership Summit 2025 with the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI). These programs equipped mid-career women professionals with future-ready leadership strategies grounded in ethics, inclusion, and digital fluency.

A prolific scholar, Dr. Gupta has authored and co-edited six books, including The Future of Indian Muslim Women: Fatwa Versus Feminism (Readworthy, 2012), Muslim Women: What Everyone Needs to Know (Viva Books, 2019), Women of Marginalised Communities: Concerns about Exclusions (Sarup Books, 2020), and Apostles of Transformation: Anthology of Muslim Women Trailblazers in India (Peter Lang, UK, 2022). She has published over 18 peer-reviewed research papers in national and international journals, and contributed 8 book chapters on topics such as Islamic feminism, education policy, social reform, religious identity, environmental justice, and the ethical dimensions of AI.

Dr. Gupta has also played a pivotal role in securing and executing international research funding. From 2022 to 2024, she served as Co-Principal Investigator and lead researcher on three successive projects funded by the Edward Cadbury Centre at the University of Birmingham, focusing on women, religion, and value-based leadership in India. In 2024, she was awarded grants under the AHRC Impact Acceleration Account Secondment Fund (£19,540) and the Research England ISPF Follow-on Fund (£15,500) for an interdisciplinary project on AI, human experience, and women professionals in Nepal, in collaboration with Professor Andrew Davies.

Through her academic research, international collaborations, and grassroots innovation, Dr. Juhi Gupta continues to shape bold, future-ready frameworks for women’s empowerment that integrate ethics, education, and technology. Her work exemplifies a deep commitment to inclusive nation-building, and she stands as a vital voice in reimagining feminist leadership for the 21st century.
