On Decentralization and Poverty Reduction in India: Initiative and Achievements
The inaugural session of the National Seminar on Decentralization and Poverty Reduction in India: Initiative and Achievements began with the recitation of Holy Quran by Zia Shahab as per the traditions of the AMU. The chairman of the Department of Economics Prof. Nisar Ahmad Khan delivered welcome address. He welcomed the Chief Guest and delegates who came from the different parts of the country.

Department of Economics, Aligarh Muslim University, in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi is organizing a ten days Workshop on Research Methodology for Ph.D. Students in Social Sciences from 1st September to 10th September, 2014. This workshop is designed to impart knowledge on Research Methodology in the context of qualitative and quantitative research along-with training in advanced statistical packages (including SPSS) across the various fields of Social Sciences. The workshop predominantly follows the Research Methodology Syllabus designed by the ICSSR New Delhi.
