Condolence meeting held

ALIGARH January 14: A condolence meeting was held in the Department of Linguistics, Aligarh Muslim University to mourn the sad demise of Dr Mubeen Ahmad Khan, former Chairman, Department of Linguistics. He had passed away on January 3 after prolonged illness.

Prof Muhammad Jahangir Warsi (Chairman, Department of Linguistics) expressed deep sorrow and grief over his demise, calling it a great loss to the linguistic world. He said that Dr Mubeen's teaching style helped him a lot to understand the basics of linguistics.

Prof Masood Ali Baig, while talking about Dr Mubeen’s academic potential and friendly nature said that he was a very talented teacher and popular amng his students and colleagues.

Prof Shabana Hameed said that Dr Mubeen will be remembered for academic acumen, literary taste and humane nature. His demise is a big loss to Urdu linguistics, she added.

Prof Imtiaz Hasnain, former Chairman, Department of Linguistics also spoke on Dr Mubeen's contributions to the department.
