Dr. Asghar Ajaz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Shia Theology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh. He obtained his Ph.D. from AMU on the topic “Sayyed-ul-Ulema Ayatullah Sayed Ali Naqi: Halaat aur Karnamey.” His areas of specialization include Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, Arabic Literature, and Islamic Philosophy.

Dr. Ajaz received his early education from the renowned Islamic seminary Jamia Nazmiya, Lucknow, and subsequently pursued higher Islamic studies in Iran, where he deepened his scholarly engagement with theology and jurisprudence.

He has published over 30 research papers and articles in reputed peer-reviewed national and international journals. His recent work, a book of Arabic Poetry titled “An-Nuzhatul Atirah fi Fazailil Itratit-Tahirah,” exemplifies his literary excellence and command of Arabic. A distinguished poet of Urdu, Arabic, and Persian, Dr. Ajaz’s poetic compositions reflect depth, spirituality, and linguistic sophistication.

In addition to his literary and academic achievements, Dr. Ajaz has authored ten books, translated three, and compiled eight volumes on diverse themes related to theology and Islamic thought. His scholarly works contribute significantly to the contemporary understanding of Islamic jurisprudence.

Dr. Ajaz has also participated in an international training program on “Diversity and Dialogue” held in the United Kingdom from 19 January 2009 to 6 February 2009. He has delivered a series of lectures across various Islamic centers in the United Kingdom, addressing topics such as Ethics, Humanity, Unity, Peace, and Harmony during his visits in 2009, 2010, 2013, and 2017, in cities including Birmingham, Leeds, Peterborough, and Leicestershire.

Fluent in Arabic and Persian, and deeply rooted in Islamic scholarship, Dr. Asghar Ajaz continues to make enduring contributions to the fields of Theology, Literature, and Intercultural Understanding.
