Dr. Imran Khan is an early career researcher having research background in Quaternary geology. He completed his graduation and post-graduation in Geology from the Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh. He qualified GATE and subsequently pursued an M.Tech. in Engineering Geoscience from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur.

Dr. Khan was awarded a Ph.D. degree in Sedimentology from the department of Earth Sciences, IIT Kanpur under the supervision of Prof. Rajiv Sinha. His thesis work employed an integrated approach combining geophysical surveys, sediment drilling and coring, luminescence dating. During his Ph.D., he was awarded a prestigious Guest Ph.D. Fellowship at Aarhus University, Denmark, where he worked under the guidance of Dr. Andrew Murray and Dr. Mayank Jain, both internationally recognized experts in luminescence dating.

Following his Ph.D., Dr. Khan pursued postdoctoral research as a Dr. D.S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellow under the mentorship of Prof. Rashid Umar. Over three years, he published several impactful research papers in reputed international journals. He has received multiple travel grants from organizations such as the International Association of Sedimentologists (IAS), European Geosciences Union (EGU) and the International Union for Quaternary Research (INQUA) to present his work at prestigious international conferences.
