The fields of interest are Hydraulics and Water Resource Engineering. The main teaching subjects consist of Engineering Fluid Mechanics, Open channel flow, Hydrology, Irrigation Engineering, Dam Engineering, Mechanics of Sediment Transport and Alluvial Stream Problems, etc. Research papers have been published mostly in the Journals of Hydraulic Division ASCE, Geotechnical and Geo-environmental Engineering ASCE, Journals of Hydraulic Research, IAHR, and Indian Society of Hydraulics(ISH), etc. He is also one of the reviewers of national and international journals.
He has also been bestowed with the ‘2020 J C Stevens Award’ of the American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE) for a technical discussion on the paper, ‘Using an Improved Jet-Erosion Test to Study The Influence of Soil Parameters on the Erosion of a Silty Soil’ authored by Van Nghia Nguyen, Jean Robert Courivaud, Patrick Pinettes, Hanane Souli, and Jean Marie Fleurieu.
