Dr. Hamid Ashraf is Professor at, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology, J.N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University. He has over 12 years of teaching experience in the field of endocrinology and diabetes, with a strong record in clinical care, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research supervision, and academic leadership.

He completed his MBBS and MD from Aligarh Muslim University and DM in Endocrinology from SKIMS, Srinagar. His academic interests include diabetes mellitus, diabetic neuropathy, obesity, metabolic syndrome, thyroid disorders, bone metabolism, and related endocrine disorders.

Dr. Ashraf has contributed widely to medical research with 57 research papers, 17 book chapters, 1 edited book, and 10 abstracts to his credit, along with numerous citations. He has also been recognized with several awards, including the Young Investigator of the Year Award by RSSDI, the A.R. Seth Award by ESI, and the Best Publication Award by UP RSSDI.

He is an active member of several national and international professional bodies and has participated extensively as a speaker, panelist, reviewer, and faculty member at scientific conferences and academic events.

He has also been involved in major funded projects and institutional initiatives, including the establishment of DBT Nidan Kendra for prenatal and new-born screening at JNMCH, AMU, and projects related to millet supplementation, diabetic foot ulcers, and nanomedicine. His leadership has supported centers and consortia focused on type 1 diabetes and cancer nanomedicine.
