Dr. Sanaullah Mir is Professor(since 2008) in the Department of Philosophy, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He has carried out his Ph.D. programme in Analytic Philosophy, an area of philosophical methodology popular at the Oxford and Cambridge Universities in the mid twentieth century. He has been teaching Analytic Philosophy, Indian and Muslim Philosophy, Ethics, Contemporary Western Philosophy, Metaphysics, Epistemology, Social and Political Philosophy, Hermeneutics etc. both at graduate and post graduate levels for the last forty-two years at A.M.U. Aligarh. His area of research is Muslim Philosophy and Philosophy of Religion.He has published three books in his area of specialization. His 15 articles have been published in Indian Philosophical Quarterly, Pune; The Aligarh Journal ofIslamic Philosophy, AMU, Aligarh and Al-Hikmat, Lahore, etc. He has participated in Thirty-seven national and international Seminars/conferences on Philosophy and Religion. He is the member of the editorial Boards of The Aligarh Journal of Islamic Philosophy, AMU, Aligarh and Al- Hikmat, Lahore.
