Prof. Syed Imran Shafiq holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing from the University of Newcastle, Australia. His doctoral research, titled “Using Decisional DNA to Enhance Industrial Design and Manufacturing,” focused on advancing knowledge-based decision systems in manufacturing environments. He also earned a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Industrial and Production Engineering from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), India.

Prof. Shafiq’s research interests encompass Industry 4.0, Knowledge Engineering, and Knowledge Representation and Management, with particular emphasis on their applications in industrial design and manufacturing, flexible manufacturing systems, and simulation modeling. He has authored 48 publications in reputed international journals, including International Journal of Production Research (Taylor & Francis), Future Generation Computer Systems (Elsevier), Cybernetics and Systems (Taylor & Francis), and Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems (IOS Press).

He has been the recipient of several international recognitions, including competitive research scholarships from the University of Newcastle, and awards in the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) and Postgraduate Research Competitions. Dr. Shafiq possesses international academic and research experience, having served as a Lecturer at the Australian Institute of Higher Education, Melbourne, and as a Researcher at the Vicomtech-IK4 Research Foundation, San Sebastián, Spain. He actively contributes to the academic community as a reviewer for various international journals and has presented his research at conferences across India, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom.

In addition to his scholarly achievements, Dr. Shafiq brings substantial experience in university administration and academic leadership.
