Dr. Syed Kausar Shamim obtained his Ph. D. degree in Geography (Regional Planning) from AMU Aligarh and M.Sc. GIS from University of Leicester, UK. He qualified UGC-NET in Geography. He has worked as GIS & Remote Sensing Professional in various capacities like GIS Data Officer in England (U.K.) for many years. His area of research interest lies in Remote Sensing and GIS, Regional Planning, Smart City Planning, Environmental Impact Assessment, Climate Change and Phenology. Dr. Syed has got published 6 books and more than 20 research papers in journals of national and international repute. He has attended many National & International Conferences and Seminars and presented more than twenty research papers as well delivered lecturers as resource person. He has also attended many training programmes, workshops and symposiums in UK, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, UAE as well as in India pertaining to diverse fields of Geo-spatial research. He has received best research paper award twice. Besides, he is also a life member of different academic and professional bodies of Geo-spatial Research and Geographical Studies. His professional work is also accredited with Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, UK.
