1. Revised Programme Outcomes

On successful completion of the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Five-Year Integrated Degree Programme, graduates shall be able to:

PO1. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of foundational and advanced principles of law, including constitutional, statutory, substantive, procedural and jurisprudential dimensions of the Indian legal system.

PO2. Apply legal knowledge to identify, analyse and resolve complex legal and socio-legal problems in doctrinal, practical, institutional and policy contexts.

PO3. Integrate perspectives from social sciences and humanities, including history, political science, sociology, economics, language and literature, to understand the relationship between law, society, governance, economy and culture.

PO4. Interpret and evaluate statutes, precedents, legal doctrines and constitutional principles through sound legal reasoning, logical analysis and principled argumentation.

PO5. Conduct independent legal research using primary and secondary legal sources, digital legal databases, appropriate research methods, and recognised standards of legal citation and academic integrity.

PO6. Draft and present legal documents, pleadings, legal opinions, written submissions, contracts, conveyancing instruments and professional communications with clarity, precision and legal accuracy.

PO7. Demonstrate professional and clinical legal skills in advocacy, moot court, interviewing, client counselling, negotiation, mediation, alternative dispute resolution and practical training.

PO8. Uphold professional ethics, constitutional morality, integrity, confidentiality, accountability and duties towards the court, client, profession, society and the rule of law.

PO9. Engage with legal aid, legal literacy, community outreach, public interest lawyering and access to justice initiatives with sensitivity to marginalised and disadvantaged groups.

PO10. Analyse contemporary and emerging areas of law, including commercial law, environmental law, human rights, gender justice, media law, technology-related legal issues, international law and transnational legal developments.

PO11. Communicate complex legal ideas, arguments, issues and conclusions effectively in oral, written, digital, academic, professional and advocacy settings.

PO12. Demonstrate readiness for diverse legal and public-service careers, including litigation, judicial services, legal advisory roles, corporate and regulatory practice, legal process outsourcing, civil services, policy work, research and higher studies.

LL.M Programme Outcomes (POs) 

PO 1: Advanced Legal Understanding

Students will be able to demonstrate advanced understanding of legal principles, doctrines, theories, institutions and processes, with a holistic appreciation of the legal system in its constitutional, social, national and international context. 

PO 2: Critical, Analytical and Interdisciplinary Reasoning

Students will be able to critically analyse complex legal problems, evaluate competing legal arguments and apply advanced legal reasoning to doctrinal, institutional, policy-oriented, adjudicatory, regulatory and consensus-based contexts. 

PO 3: Legal Research, Methodology and Knowledge Generation

Students will be able to undertake independent legal research using appropriate doctrinal, comparative, interdisciplinary, empirical, inductive, deductive and quantitative methods, and demonstrate competence in legal writing, citation, research ethics and dissertation-based academic work. 

PO 4: Specialised Legal Knowledge and Application

Students will be able to acquire and apply specialised legal knowledge in their chosen area of law, including Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Commercial Law, Family Law or Labour Law, to contemporary legal, institutional and socio-legal issues. 

PO 5: Comparative, International and Global Legal Perspective

Students will be able to analyse legal issues from comparative, international and global perspectives, particularly in relation to governance, justice, human rights, legal institutions, transnational regulation and emerging legal developments. 

PO 6: Professional, Academic and Communication Skills

Students will be able to demonstrate professional, academic, analytical, oral and written communication skills required for legal practice, legal academics, research, judicial services, civil and state services, corporate legal work, public institutions and allied legal professions. 

PO 7: Ethics, Constitutional Values and Lifelong Learning

Students will be able to uphold professional ethics, academic integrity, constitutional values, cultural competence, leadership, social justice orientation and commitment to lifelong learning in the study and practice.
