Received Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. He received his Master of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering with specialization in Computer Aided Process Plant Design from the University of Roorkee (presently IIT, Roorkee) in 1990 and acquired Ph.D. from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh during service period in 2014. He joined the Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India, as a faculty member in Faculty of Engineering & Technology in 1990. Since then, he has been engaged in research and the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate classes.
In March, 1997 he joined the Department of Post Harvest Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh as a faculty member. Thereafter he has been actively engaged in research and the teaching of postgraduate classes. He has been Principal Investigator of different projects such as Ministry of Environment and Forests (GoI) Sponsored Project on slaughterhouse waste utilization for Pet Food, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, New Delhi Sponsored Project on Assessment of Harvest and Post Harvest Losses of Major Crops and Commodities in India, and All India Coordinated Research Project on Post Harvest Technology, and many investigations have been completed under this scheme. Food engineering, food processing, development of food products, extraction and application of natural dye, pet foods are major areas of his interest. He is teaching several courses to post graduate students of Agricultural Process and Food Engineering including Food Preservation Technology, Process Modeling and Simulation, Transport Processes, Food Engineering I & II. He so far has supervised five (5) Ph.D. and 52 M.Tech. dissertations. He has published a number of research papers in national and international journals including Journal of Food Science and Technology, Desalination (from Elsevier series), Journal of Natural Fibers (Taylor & Francis Publication), Journal of Food Processing and Preservation (John Willey Publication), Textile and clothing Sustainability (Published by Springer), Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering (Elsevier Publication), Royal Society of Chemistry Publication, Journal of advanced research (Elsevier Publication), LWT - Food Science and Technology (Elsevier Publication), Optik-International Journal for Light and Electron Optics (Elsevier Publication), Journal of Food Processing and Technology, Colourage, and Beverage and Food World and eight research papers in the proceeding of conferences of National and international repute. He is member of several Scientific Societies.
