Dr. Nighat Ahmad is professor in Economics at A.M.U. She has done her graduation and post graduation from the University of Lucknow, and MPhil and PhD from A.M.U. She has earlier taught at Isabella Thoburn College, Lucknow,and is now at AMU (since 1983) - a total of almost thirty four years of teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level. She has taught Development Economics, Money and Banking, Microeconomics, Public Finance and Indian Economy. Her field of interest is development economics. She has focused on health and education in which she has produced several papers and guided research work. She has contributed articles in several journals, including University News, Journal of Educational Planning and Administration, UPUEA Economic Journal and the Indian Journal of Research Anvikshiki. She was awarded a Major Research Project by UGC for two years (2010 - 2012).
