I joined the Department of Chemical Engineering, AMU, Aligarh on 19.11.1988 as a Lecturer. Thereafter, I was promoted to Lecturer in Senior Scale, Lecturer (Selection Grade) and then to Associate Professor w.e.f. 01.01.2006. My research interests are in the fields of soft computing, boiling heat transfer (thermosiphon reboilers), petroleum processing and energy technology, renewable energy, food processing and solid waste management. Recently, I have made a foray in the area of composite conducting polymers for application in supercapacitors. My teaching interests are also in tune with these research interests, though all subjects of Chemical Engineering are dear to me. Besides these, I am particularly interested in teaching appropriate technology for a sustainable world. I possess a teaching experience (UG, PG, and Interdisciplinary) of about 23 years. I am at present supervising two students for their Ph.Ds and three students are doing their Masters under my supervision. I am a regular visitor to academic events like conferences, symposia, short term courses, workshops, etc. Some of the journals in which my articles have been published include Chemical Engineering Science(Elsevier), Chemical Engineering Research and Design (Elsevier), Waste Management and Research (Sage Publication), Chemical Engineering World, Chemical Products Finder and Beverage and Food World.
