Department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology

​The Department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology is dedicated to advancing excellence in undergraduate dental education, fostering a strong foundation in the diagnosis and understanding of oral diseases. The major thrust areas include the study of oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMDs), oral cancer, salivary gland diseases, odontogenic lesions, and oral infections. Faculty member actively engage in scholarly activities and research.

1. Undergraduate Education

Comprehensive teaching and training of BDS students in Oral Pathology and Oral Microbiology. Development of diagnostic reasoning and clinicopathological correlation skills. Promotion of competency-based dental education.

2. Oral Disease Awareness

Education regarding oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMDs), oral cancer, and common oral diseases. Emphasis on prevention, early recognition, and patient awareness.

3. Academic Excellence

Encouragement of critical thinking, self-directed learning, and evidence-based practice. Integration of recent advances in oral pathology into undergraduate teaching.

4. Research and Scholarly Activities
