ALIGARH, April 21: The Community College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), organised a two-day cultural event “Taqreeb-e-Basti 2.0”, celebrating creativity, cultural diversity and student engagement.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from students across faculties, featuring cultural performances, artistic displays and interactive sessions that provided a platform to showcase talent.

In his welcome address, Dr. Mohammad Zain Khan, Course Coordinator (Polymer Section), highlighted the importance of skill-based training in preparing students for industry-oriented challenges.

Chief Guest Prof. Mohammad Athar Ansari, Dean Students’ Welfare, encouraged students to actively participate in such initiatives for holistic development. Guest of Honour Prof. Shahab Ali Asghar Nami emphasised dedication and hard work, while Prof. Nabiullah Khan spoke on the value of such platforms in fostering creativity and learning.

Prof. Mujib Ahmad Ansari, Nodal Officer, in his presidential remarks, underlined the role of such programmes in promoting academic excellence, while Prof. Sartaj Tabassum, Dean, Faculty of Science, urged students to remain resilient in pursuit of their goals.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr.Sheeba Kamal. The event was supported by student organisers Yousuf, Gulfam Saqib, Wafiya Shamshad and Gulshad.

World Environment Day Plantation Drive Community College

Aligarh, on 5th June 2026: On the occasion of World Environment Day, a plantation drive was organized at the Community College Aligarh Muslim University. The programme was conducted with the aim of promoting environmental sustainability and encouraging importance of tree plantation among students and staff.

The programme was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Mujib Ahmad Ansari, Nodal Officer of Community College A.M.U

The event was graced by the presence of the Course coordinators Dr. Mohd. Zain Khan of Polymer Technology and Dr. Sheeba Kamal of Fashion Design and Garment Technology Section they have motivated the faculties and staff to contribute towards environmental conservation.

On this occasion, Dr. Pankaj Kumar Tyagi, Assistant Professor, Leather Technology. University Polytechnic graced the event with his presence. Teachers of all the three sections Dr. Umair Arif, Dr. Rakhshanda Rehman, Ms. Nazia Begum, Mrs. Farha, Ms. Nimra Khan, Dr. Nimra Shakeel, Dr. Tooba Fatima were present. Their active participation and support played a vital role in making the programme successful.

During the drive, several saplings were planted within the college premises. The participants enthusiastically took part in the activity and highlighted the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance, improving air quality, and ensuring a sustainable future.

The plantation drive served as a meaningful step towards creating a greener environment and spreading the message of environmental responsibility. The programme concluded with a pledge by all present to care for the planted saplings and continue supporting initiatives that promote a healthy and sustainable ecosystem.
