Centre for Skill Development and Career Planning
Centre for Skill Development and Career Planning have been organized a series of competitions and events successfully till 15th December 2019. The huge numbers of participants participated in these events and competitions to win lots of prizes and applause.
The following competitions which have been conducted and many more to come to mark the success.
Salad and Soup making Competition was held on 6th February 2017. Forty six students prepared salad and fourteen students participated in the soup making competition. The competition of a good combination of delicacies and nutrition, it was a big success.
Centre organized a Fashion Show on 24th Dec 2016. Twenty one students participated and impressively showed their feminine side.
A Beauty Week was organized from 28th Nov to 3rd Dec 2016. Around fifty students of Beauty Culture course participated and applied their Beauty treatments efficiently. The earning while earning learning scheme of the Centre was practised to motivate the students of Beauty Culture.
The Centre also organized a Mehndi Competition on 19th Nov 2016. Forty seven students showed their Creative skills by colouring their hands with Henna.
Twenty one days Orientation Programme on Adoption and use of Advanced Computer Technologies for Teaching and Researches was organised by the Centre between 15th Nov to 7th Dec 2016. Thirteen Faculty members joined the programme learn advance and latest technologies of Computer and online library access.
Twenty three students participated in the Poster making Competition on the theme Upholding the Fundamental Rights of Women to live with dignity and equality. This competition was organized by the Centre on 15th Nov 2016. Students exhibited their thought fullness, awareness and ideas.
A Slogan writing Competition on Swatch Barat (clean India) was organized on 9th Nov 2016. Twenty one participants wrote the slogan on themes such as, my clean India, my dream India; swatch Barat Swasth Barat; and Hum sab ka nara - saaf suthra ho desh hamera.
An Essay Writing Competition was organised on the topic entitled Eradication of corruption by adopting honesty, transparency and fairness on 3rd Nov 2016 to observe the week of Public participation in promoting integrity and eradication of corruption. Thirty one students participated and expressed their views on this social issue to get transparency in functioning and professional honesty in the society. Participants so they express their views and efforts to have corruption free society.
Centre organised a Flower Decoration Competition on 9th March 2016. Students of Women's College and CSD&CP participated, arranged and decorated flowers.
A Mehndi Competition organised on 9th March 2016. Fifty students of Women's College and CSD&CP participated in the event.
Career Planning Centre organised an important event to celebrate 'International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women' on 30th November 2015. 65 students of Women's College, Abdullah Hall and Career Planning Centre participated 'To Orange the World by Ending Violence against Women'. In this connection a Slogan Writing Competition on 'SAY NO TO VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN' and 'GLORIFYING WOMANHOOD'. Students enthusiastically participated and presented posters to express their views and above all for the sake of glorifying womanhood.
On 14th November 2015 Career Planning Centre celebrated Children's Day and organised a Poster Making Competition on 'Save the future of nation by preventing child labour'. Participants were made efforts for those children who were socially deprived. Forty three student of Women's College participated in the competition by making posters on a socially important issue.
Career Planning Centre organised Card Making Competition on 9th Novemberber 2015 to celebrate festive season with best wishes and messages. Around 49 students of different streams of Women's College and Career Planning Centre were participated enthusiastically.
Career Planning Centre organised an Essay Writing Competition - 'Weed out corruption and build a strong nation' on 30th September 2015 to celebrate the 'Vigilance Awareness Week'. Fifty students of Women's College from all streams participated enthusiastically and gave their view points with admirable rationale.
Career Planning Centre organised the Beauty Week from 9th to 16th July 2015. Fifty six Students of Beauty Culture Courses (Skin Care and Hair Care) have enthusiastically participated and efficiently carried beauty treatments like bleach, facials, manicure-pedicure, head massage, heena, hair-colouring, hair styling, hair cutting and many more services on ninety clients. The said programme was an effort to endorse one of the mission of the Centre, which is development of earning while learning skills among students.
Career Planning Centre has organised an Orientation Programme for 21 days, that is, from 6th to 30th April 2015 on Computer Application for the faculty members of Women's College, as well as for the teachers of Senior Secondary School, Abdullah Nursery and Primary school and Abdullah Girls School. Twenty one teachers from Women's College and schools joined the programme and successfully completed their learning and training in Computer Application along with the smart class room teaching practises.
The Career Planning Centre organized one day National Workshop on 'Life Challenges and Coping Strategies of Physically Challenged Individuals' on 17th November 2014.More than 300 students participants including 80 Physically Challenged students from all schools, Colleges and Departments of AMU, Faculty members of Womens College and of other departments of AMU as well as other Degree Colleges of Aligarh, Research Scholars from different faculties were participated and presented posters on the said topic.
The Career Planning Centre organized a floor decoration (Rangoli Competition) titled 'Creation' on 22nd October, 2014.
To celebrate the festival season with lot of zeal and love the Career Planning Centre organized a Card Making Competition titled 'Xpression' on 21st October, 2014.
Three Days Sale Exhibition was organised by Career Planning Centre from 8th to 10th September 2014.
Fifteen days Computer Literacy Training Program for the teachers of Women's College, STS High School, Abdullah Primary School and retired faculty members of Women's College was organised from 15th May to 30th May 2014. Thirty three members were participated in the training program, updated their knowledge in Computers and obtained Smart Classroom teaching practice.
Two-weeks Computer Orientation Programme-'Efficiency in Computer Skills' was successfully organised for the teachers of Women's College and Abdullah Primary School, from 15th April to 30th April 2014.
The teachers and staff members of the Career Planning Centre visited Surajkund Fair, Haryana in February 2011, 2013 and 2014; with the aim of inducting new ideas for the courses operational at the centre.
Salad and Soup Preparation Competition was held in February 2014.
Two days National Workshop on EXCELLENCE, EMPLOYABILITY AND ENTERPRISING SKILLS OF WOMEN was held in December, 2013.
Best Uses of Waste competition was organized in November 2013.
Four days Workshop from Pedilites on Painting and Designing of fabrics and other surfaces was organised in November, 2013.
A Beauty Week was organized from 17th December to 22nd December 2012. All students of Beauty Culture (skin care and hair care) participated and applied beauty treatments on their clients. They earned good amount of money which confirmed the successful implementation of the important objective the centre, that is, earning while learning.
A Poster Making Competition on the topic with the title A Beautiful Spectrum of the Women's World was held in December 2012.
Slogan writing competition on Save the future of innocents was organized in October 2012.
A crash course in English Fluency Development Programme for Girl students was organized from 5th July to 28th July 2011.
A short term Computer Literacy Programme for the bonafide female students of A.M.U as well as for female external students was organized from 7th July to 29th July 2011.
Salad Making Competition was held in February 2011, the salad were made with themes which depicted social issues with a lots of creative skills.
Mehndi Competition was organized for Career Planning Centre students and other students on 15 February 2011 to show their artistic talents and creativity.
International Women's Day was celebrated with the collaboration of TIMES in 2011.
A Workshop on Hair Care was held in 2011. The resource person Mr. Habib Ahmad of HABIB'S spoke on hair maintenance and styling.
