25-SEP-2014: Professor S Moied Ahmed, Department of Anaesthesiology, JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University and his team of instructors comprising Dr Obaid A Siddiqui, Dr S Ali, Dr Asad Mahmood, Dr S Jain, Dr B Das, Dr S Agrawal, Dr M Athar, Dr K Doley conducted a workshop on "Management of Difficult Airways" in the 6th Central Zone & 11th Annual Conference of Indian Society of Anaesthesiology, Chattisgarh Chapter.
The workshop comprised deliberations on techniques of airway management with the help of different airway gadgets. A hands-on training on the manikins with advanced airway equipment was also organized with the help of video clippings.
An interactive session was held on three difficult airway case scenarios like patients with temporomandibular joint stiffness who cannot open their mouth, patients with post burn contracture where there is fixed flexion deformity and who cannot extend their neck and patients with morbid obesity where there are various predictors of anticipated difficult intubation. In this session, the delegates discussed case scenarios regarding further proceedings and management of difficult airway.
The organizers appreciated the high standard of teaching and training delivered by Professor Moied and his team and congratulated the delegates on their achievement.
The workshop was organized first time in Raipur, Chattisgarh by the ISA City Branch Raipur in association with Department of Anaesthesiology, Pt J.N.M. Medical College (C.G.).
