05-OCT-2014: "One must realize that cleaning enhances efficiency significantly and untidy surroundings make people inert", said Prof. N. A. K. Durrani, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences while inaugurating the cleaning campaign at the Department of Mass Communication.
Prof. Shafey Kidwai, Chairman, Department of Mass Communication made a strong plea for keeping the department clean and tidy as costly equipment such as FCP, HD Cameras and other electronic gadgets installed at the state-of-the-art studio of the department get affected if proper cleaning is not done.
Prof. N. A. K. Durrani, Prof. Shafey Kidwai, Dr. Afrina Rizvi, Dr. Gopal Krishna Sahu, Dr. Pitabas Pradhan, research scholars and other non-teaching staff members carried out sweeping in the premises of the department.
On the other hand, the students of Master of Social Work (MSW) carried out a sensitizing programme in Hamdard Nagar, Badam Nagar, Mulana Azad Nagar and Jamalpur localities and launched a cleaning campaign in consonance with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan started by the Vice Chancellor, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah.
Strengthening the mission, the MSW students, under the supervision of faculty members, held corner meetings with local people and mobilized them to participate in the national endeavour actively and help make India clean and healthy.
Prof. N. A. K. Durrani, Dr. Naseem Ahmad Khan, Dr. Mohd. Tahir and Dr. Mohd. Arif Khan were also present on this occasion.
