11-OCT-2014: The Department of Microbiology, JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University is organizing a National Symposium on "Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) and Anti Microbial Resistance" on December 9, 2014.
Dr Fatima Khan, Organizing Secretary of the Symposium, said that the prevention and control of infection should be top priority of microbiologists in order to reduce preventable part of healthcare associated with infections. She said that in India the problem of HAI emerges as a big challenge due to lack of awareness, low resources and poor patients. She said that there was urgent need to tailor HAI practices keeping low resource setting in mind.
Dr Khan said that abstracts have been invited for poster presentation in different areas like HAI, Blood Stream Infections, Surgical site infections, burn and wound infections, Anti Microbial Resistance, Ventilator associated Pneumonias, Urinary tract infections and other Gynaelogical infections by October 15, 2014 on the website www.hai2014micro.in.
