11-OCT-2014: The Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Lt Gen Zameeruddin Shah (Retd), while addressing the academicians of Commerce, Business Administration, Law, Agricultural Sciences and Theology faculties in the University‚??s administrative block on Friday said: It is his priority to raise the standard of University schools. He pointed out that the schools are the base of education and it is important to have quality and competitive education at primary school level.
The Vice Chancellor added that he is open to dissenting views in the University, provided these views are in the right direction and speak for justice. During the interaction, he assured the teachers that dissenting views will be appreciated and he despises people with the ‚??yes sir‚?? attitude.
He further added that he is disappointed that some people are using rumors to create distrust between him and the student community. The Vice Chancellor ordered teachers to refrain from such rumors and urged a mutual cooperation to run the University in the right direction.
In the interactive session, the Vice chancellor, Gen Shah brought attention to problems faced by teachers in the University. We are aware that the teachers deserve better working places and we would like to assure that more facilities would be given to make our teachers comfortable, said the Vice chancellor. He also assured that all ‚??Selection Committees‚?? are scheduled to finish before December 31.
While confirming that the process for admissions in the PhD programme in various departments has been initiated, the Vice Chancellor assured, the University Administration is trying to rope in the best scholars from all over the country and abroad.
Meanwhile, the Controller of examinations, Professor Jawaid Akhtar confirmed that there would be no changes in the existing admission policies of the institution. He added that there would be no delays in the admissions in the coming academic session.
