28-OCT-2014: Dr. Muhammad Shah Alam, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics Engineering, Aligarh Muslim University visited Germany for one month under INSA-DFG Fellowship for international collaboration and exchange programme to work with Prof. Dr. -Ing. Michael Schröter, Chair for Electron Devices and Integrated Circuits, Technical University Dresden, Germany. He worked on the project proposal "A low noise amplifier (LNA) circuit involving state-of-the-art technologies for multiband millimeter wave receiver for high quality video distribution in the home environment".
Dr. Alam obtained his Ph.D. degree in Electronics Engineering in 2002 from Queenâ??s University of Belfast, UK and worked as a visiting scientist at its Nano-Technology Centre during 2004-05 under a Royal Society (London) funded scheme. In year 2010, he completed his post-doctoral study in the area of Nano-Electronics under Commonwealth Fellowship Programme. He has also received a major research project of amount Rs. 23, 81,400 during 2010-2014 by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India under National Nano-technology Mission.
He has worked extensively in the areas of rf device modeling and nano-electronics and published more than 40 research papers in reputed journals like microwave optical letter, international journal of electronics and solid-state electronics. His current research interests include synthesis of nano-structures and their characterization, non-silicon technologies for multi-band wireless and Radio Frequency model development for low power nano-circuit design.
