18-Mar-2015: Moinuddin Ahmad Art Gallery organized a lecture followed by a short film, The Legacy of Raja Deen Dayal (The Photographer) directed by Ms Jay Chandiram of on 18th March 2015. The programme was organized on the eve of the Closing Ceremony of the ongoing exhibition 'Images of India - a Fascinating Journey through Time' Time' organized by Moinuddin Ahmad Art Gallery, AMU, in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi, from 28th February to 18th March 2015. Brig Ahmad Ali, Pro Vice-Chancellor, AMU was the chief guest and Mrs Rizwana Ahmad Ali was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Dr. Virendra Bangroo, Asst. Professor and Head, Visual Unit of IGNCA, during his lecture, elaborated the exclusive illustrations of 19th and 20th century, which depict the life, culture and historical monuments. He emphasized the need to showcase more archival materials of IGNCA at AMU, which are rare. Mrs. Ali showed keen interest in the illustrated images and shared her personal experiences of visiting most of the historical places shown in the exhibition.
A short film on the life of Raja Deen Dayal, among the first photographers of 19th century, was also screened. Dr. Badar Jahan, Coordinator, MAAG, thanked the dignitaries and guests and expressed her interest in organising more collaborative programmes for the benefits of the students and research scholars of AMU.
