26-Mar-2015: The Subject Refresher courses in Research Methodology in Agricultural Sciences and Computer Applications concluded at the UGC Academic Staff College, AMU.
Around 24 university teachers and 37 college teachers from Assam, Delhi, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Nagaland, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal were attending the three weeks residential courses.
Valediction Ceremony Chief Guest Emeritus Professor Farhatullah Khan of AMU's Department of English while addressing the gathering said that learning is a life long process which will not end after achieving high degrees.
Pointing out to challenges of technology, Prof Farhatullah warned teachers, students and scholars against a culture of silence in the present generation and urged the teachers to keep away from making teaching a monologue.
Professor Abdur Raheem Kidwai, Director, UGC ASC, AMU said that the UGC Academic Staff College courses are not only meant for knowledge sharing and skill building but after attending these courses people will walk away with messages of values of social cohesion, tolerance, mutual respect and brotherhood.
Course coordinators Professor Wazahat Hussain, former Chairman, Department of Botany, AMU and Professor Shahid Farroq, Department of Geology, AMU facilitated the certificate distribution.
Dr Aasia Bhat, Jammu and Kashmir; Dr Navtej Singh, Punjab; Dr Renu Devi, Baghpat and Dr Bhawnath Jha, Nagaland gave feedback on behalf of the course participants. They said that the content of the courses was according to their requirements and helped increase their knowledge manifold. They said that he ASC staff took care of all their needs regarding lodging, food and transport etc.
