27-Mar-2015: The Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah inaugurated a five-day Regional Art Exhibition at Kennedy Hall premises. Mrs. Sabiha Simi Shah released the souvenir of the exhibition. Mr. Ali Anwar, Rajya Sabha member was also present on this occasion.
The art exhibition has been organized by the State Lalit Kala Academy, Uttar Pradesh under the stewardship of Dr. Zeba Hasan of Department of Fine Arts, Aligarh Muslim University.
The exhibition displayed about 150 art works of artists coming from Agra, Firozabad, Hathras, Kannauj, Etah, Mainpuri, Etawah and Aligarh districts. These art works will be judged for three best prizes of Rs. 10,000/- each along with a memento and certificate of appreciation. The winners will be felicitated at a separate function to be held at state level later.
Dr. Zeba Hasan informed that noted sculptor and Principal of Lucknow Arts College, Mr. P. Rajeevanayan will deliver a lecture along with a slide presentation on March 27 at 5 pm, while a national level artist and former Head, Department of Fine Arts, Agra College, Agra will make a demonstration of his paintings on March 28 at 7 pm. The exhibition is open for public viewing till March 30, 2015, added Dr. Zeba.
Dr. Zeba expressed gratitude to Dr. F. S. Shirani, Coordinator, Cultural Education Centre who extended full cooperation in organizing the exhibition.
Dr. Madhu Rani, Prof. Seema Javed, Dr. Waseem Mushtaq Wani, Mr. Abdur Rahman and Mr. Sudhir Kumar, faculty members from Department of Fine Arts, were also present.
