22-APR-2015: The Final-Year students of the Aligarh Muslim University's Masters in Tourism Administration (MTA) course recently received the Amadeus Automated Ticketing Software Training Programme Certificates from the AMU Pro Vice Chancellor, Brigadier S Ahmad Ali (retd).
These certificates were distributed after the conclusion of 40-hours Training Programme organized in agreement with the Bird Academy, New Delhi. The Programme was aimed at equipping students and giving them hands on experience with the most requisite computer skills demanded in travel and tourism industry. The students were awarded certificates after passing a test.
While addressing the gathering of students and teachers of the Department of Commerce's MTA course, Brigadier Ali compared Indian tourism to Seychelles. He pointed out the potential of Andaman and Nicobar islands as a tourist destination.
Brigadier Ali also shared his experiences about Rajasthan and other places of tourist interest in India. He encouraged students to dream of their own tourism enterprises in the near future.
Meanwhile, the Chairman, Department of Commerce, Professor S U Farooqui stated that the program has been realized with the financial and moral support of the University Administration. On the behalf of the Department of Commerce, Prof Farooqui expressed gratefulness to the University. He also appreciated the continuous efforts of TPO (MTA), Prof Dr Sheeba Hamid for her hard work.
The TPO (MTA), Prof Sheeba, congratulated the students for obtaining excellent scores in the training and expressed heartfelt thanks to AMU Pro Vice Chancellor, Brigadier Ali for the timely financial help. She pointed out that the financial and moral help form the administration made this beneficial training program a success story.
She also thanked the Dean, Faculty of Commerce, Prof M M Khan and Chairman, Department of Commerce, Prof Farooqui for their constant support.
Prof Z U Khairoowala, Prof Imran Salim and other faculty members of the Department were also present in the event. Bird Academy Trainer, Mr Nivin Verma, also attended the event.
While Mr Sujood of MTA (Final Year) spoke on spoke on the significance of this training for good placement of students in industry, Ms Ruby Khan, MTA (Final Year), conducted the programme.
