07-SEP-2015: Dr Salma Shaheen, Principal, University Women's Polytechnic recently convened a consultative meeting AMU office bearers with the NSIC (National Small Industries Corporation) and Bishen International Export House personnel to address the training and placement related issues and to accelerate the industrial training process of University Women's Polytechnic.
The meeting, which took place a smart class room of the University Women's Polytechnic was presided by over by Ms Nalini Singh CGM NSIC, Mr Abdul Jabbar GM NSIC, Mr Praveen Sharma, CEO Bishen International, Mr Saad Hameed TPO (General) AMU. The TPO and TPC of the University Women's Polytechnic along with more than 25 student representatives attended the meeting.
Welcoming the members to University Women's Polytechnic campus, Dr Shaheen extensively described the scope and purpose of B.VOC (FT) and CDGT courses. She spoke about the facilities available at the institute and candidly focused on various constraints associated with the training and placement of students.
Dr Shaheen praised polytechnic students for being very talented and expected that the young girls could do much better with improved training opportunities.
Ms Nalini Singh CGM NICS explained how NSIC can be helpful to create and strengthen mutually beneficial relationships between the institute and corporate world.
She informed the members on how their expertise in providing machinery on hire purchase basis and assistance in marketing exports can lead the students to become successful entrepreneurs.
Ms Nalini also talked about the need of conducting the training programs for students jointly with NSIC and other similar agencies.
Mr Abdul Jabbar, GM, NSIC promised to extend all possible help to University Women's Polytechnic, Training and Placement Cell.
Mr Praveen Sharma, CEO Bishen International, emphasized the tie ups with peer institutes for state of the art training of B.VOC (FT) and CDGT students.
He explained how an owner of small a Garment Designing business can proceed to become an exporter through consistent exposition of her products.
NSIC personnel and AMU TPO also answered queries of students. Some of the students who have already undergone a training programme at a Jaipur based institute shared their valuable experience with the members.
After the meeting, Mr Saad Hameed, TPO (General) conducted an interactive session with the B.VOC(FT) students.
He congratulated the students for being admitted to a graduate course in FT which is available at few educational institutes countrywide.
Mr Hameed also explained the future plans of TPO office to address the training and placement related issues.
