08-DEC-2015: SOCH beyond the imagination, an organization run by AMU Students recently organized a 'Dental Hygiene Camp' at the Ahmadi School for Visually Challenged, AMU. The camp was held on 'World Disability Day'
While inaugurating the camp, Mrs Firdaus Rahman, Principal, Ahmadi School for Visually Challenged appreciated the efforts made by team SOCH for organizing the camp.
She further said that blindness is a challenge and we should accept it and struggle for a better tomorrow.
During her address, Mrs Firdaus pointed out that the Ahmadi School for Visually Challenged and the AMU administration provides free facilities and expenditure to the students in Ahmadi School.
Dr Farah Zaidi, organizer of the event, who is an AMU alumni now doing masters in Pubic Health from Australia said that spending time with Ahmadi School students and sharing their thoughts and problems is a great experience.
Dr Danish Suhail, secretary of SOCH group said that Aligarh Muslim University students are at the forefront in serving humanity in every field. "We always try to work for those sections, which need it most," he added.
Dr Saleem Mohammad Khan of SOCH thanked the school administration for coordinating in organizing a successful camp. He promised for more such events in future.
While Dr Saleem Mohammad Khan, Adil Naseer, Shawez Khan, Muntazar Imam Naqvi, Furqan Khan, played vital role in organizing the event, Nudrat, Bushra Naseem, Farheen Begumm, Mujeebul Haque, Mohd Rashid were involved from the School Committee.
Sets of free toothpaste and toothbrushes were distributed to Ahmadi School students during the camp. Meanwhile, dentists also demonstrated the method of proper brushing of teeth.
At least, 97 students were examined and a team of dentists including Dr Farah Zaidi, Dr Danish Suhail, Dr Rukhsar, Dr Zainab Sheikh and Dr Zoya Ahmad did their complete oral hygiene checks.
