31-DEC-2015: Professor S Moied Ahmed, Teacher -in- Charge of ICU, Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, J N Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University was recently conferred with the President's Appreciation Award during the ISACON 2015 held at Jaipur.
He was awarded by Prof Harsoor of the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA) for contribution in the field of Difficult Airway.
While delivering a lecture on the topic titled 'Video-Laryngoscope and Difficult Airway' in the CME at the conference, Prof Moied highlighted the role of various video-laryngoscopes in the management of difficult airway and the recent advancement of different techniques.
Prof Moied said that it is about time that we change our airway management from direct vision to endoscopy or videoscopy guided management. His lecture was well appreciated by the experts attending the conference.
Prof Moied with a colleague, Dr Apeksh Patwa from Gujarat was also given the responsibility to develop a Difficult Airway module for the ISA during the conference.
He was also involved in video based lectures and case discussions with pre and post workshop evaluations during the programme.
During workshops held at ISACON 2015, Prof Moied trained the participants in different sub-speciality, continuing medical education, didactic deliberations on different sub-specialtities and surgical management of Difficult Airway along with other relevant topics. He also judged a paper presentation competition for the post graduates.
Around 5000 delegates from different parts of India and abroad attended the conference.
