29-JAN-2016: The Aligarh Muslim University Malappuram Centre, Kerala organized a one-week short-term course on "How to teach effectively" under the aegis of the Centre for Academic Leadership and Education Management (CALEM), UGC Human Resource Development Centre, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh.
Prof V. Kunhali, the Dean of Indology, Sree Sankaracharya Sanskrit University and Visiting Professor at C.H. Mohammad Koya Chair on Developing Societies, University of Calicut, inaugurated the course. Critically evaluating the status of teaching and learning in Indian Education system, he urged the participants to come forward to improve the standard of teaching and learning process. Referring to role models such as Prof Mohammad Habeeb and Prof. K.A Nizami, Prof. Kunhali, himself a noted historian, pointed that the teachers have to take up the responsibility of developing good citizenship.
Mr. Ameer Ahmad, Chairman, Manappat Group and Chairman of Vision 2040 UP, addressed the gathering as guest of honour. Drawing on his experiences, he claimed that the primary role of the teachers is to help the students to set their target and achieve it. He urged the teachers to be equipped with new techniques in the field of teaching.
Presiding over the inaugural session, Dr. H Abdul Azeez, Director of the AMU Malappuram Centre, appreciated the diversity of the participants of the course who hailed from different parts of the country.
Dr. Faisal KP, Coordinator, Department of Law and the Convener of the Course welcomed the gathering. Dr. Ahzam Khan, Assistant Registrar of Centre delivered vote of thanks.
