05-Feb-2016: Dr. M. Saad Alam, Coordinator, Centre of Advanced Research in Electrified Transportation (CARET), Aligarh Muslim University, recently delivered a talk on "Solutions to Electric Vehicles Customer's Range Anxiety". The invited talk was organized by the Mahindra Technical Academy under "Guru Speak", an Expert Lecture Series (ELS) to provide state of the art training to Mahindra Engineering and R&D teams. Dr. Alam is the first AMU faculty to have conducted a training session at Mahindra.
Dr. Alam said that the subsequent interactions with the leaders and senior managers were focused on improving relationship between industry and academia.
Subsequent to this trip, Dr. Alam was also invited by R&D team of Japanese Auto maker Renault-Nissan, Chennai. He delivered a talk on the challenges in the deployment of charging infrastructure in India and discussed the possibility of collaboration with CARET, AMU.
Dr. Alam said that the majority of the Automotive Industry in India is gearing up to focus on the production of environment friendly Electric, Hybrid Electric and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles. The Govt. of India has also launched Faster Adaptability and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME) Mission through Department of Heavy Industry (DHI) in 2015.
