09-MAR-2016: The Department of Ilaj Bit Tadbeer, Faculty of Unani Medicine, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University organized two-days National Conference-cum-workshop on 'Intervention of Ilaj-Bit-Tadbeer in the Management of Pain and Disability' to bring classical regimen of Unani medicine in public domain especially for the management of chronic pain with high safety profiles.
Chief Guest Dr. Vanitha Murali Kumar, President, CCIM, Ministry of AYUSH stressed upon the growth of Unani medicine with the help of Regimenal therapy. She further said that it is a big achievement of CCIM to start coding system for teachers to avoid duplicity and also expressed her wonderful experience on the visit to AMU and Ajma Khan Tibbiya College for the first time.
Professor Rais-Ur-Rahman, Advisor (Unani), Ministry of AYUSH and Director General, CCRUM, New Delhi while presiding over the program, said that chronic pains and disabilities have always been areas of concern in conventional system of medicine as the long use of analgesic medicines can lead to a number of problems. He mentioned that people are looking towards the traditional system of medicine for the safe management of chronic pains and disabilities.
Dr Rashidullah Khan, Vice President (Unani), CCIM, Ministry of AYUSH said that the Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College has a history of producing brilliant students who are serving the society in different capacities.
Professor Sikandar Hayat Siddiqui, Director, Unani Services, UP said that the Department of Ilaj-bit-Tadbeer has emerged out to be an exemplary one for the Unani Colleges throughout the country. He expressed hope that the Conference-cum-Workshop will open new avenues for making the best possible use of different regimes of Ilaj-bit-Tadbeer and provide rescue and relief to the suffering people.
Dr Razmi Yunus, Secretary, Eram Educational Society, Lucknow said that the environment is exposed to a greater risk in the era of globalization and rapid urbanization in which, every new invention, in one way or the other, adding to lifestyle disorders, contamination and global warming.
Professor MM Wamiq Amin, Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine, while addressing the program, informed that the Unani system of Medicine has rational concept of disease and health and its own fundamentals of diagnosis as well as treatment.
The Principal, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Professor Saud Ali Khan informed that the Department of Ilaj-bit-Tadbeer has excellent infrastructure facilities and has been providing best possible services to the needy and poor patient.
Professor MMH Siddiqui, Organizing Chairman of the Conference-cum-Workshop pointed out that the Conference has focused on creating a forum for exchange of experience between participants to find better ways to combat dreadful ailing conditions, thereby improving the quality of life. He said that it has proved to be a great opportunity to expand global network and to decide the prospects of research and innovation in the field of pain management.
Professor Mohd Anwar, Organizing Secretary of the Conference-cum-Workshop stated that it came up with scientific recommendations of different Ilaj-bit-Tadbeer procedures, helpful in the management of pain, and has provided newer and advanced dimensions to the healthcare system.
Dr Asia Sultana, Co-Organizing Secretary of the Conference-cum-Workshop said that the theme of the conference was conceived in the backdrop of the indirect effects of the onslaught of non communicable diseases. She informed that the conference has achieved its end objectives by means of open discussions and deliberations.
The Conference also included Guest lectures by eminent resource persons Professor KC Singhal, Former V.C., NIMS University, Jaipur and Professor Ghazala Mulla, HOD, Department of Physiology, ZVM College, Pune as well as Professor Syed Shakir Jamil, Former Director, CCRUM, New Delhi, Professor KMY Amin, Department of Ilmul Advia, Dr SM Abbas Zaidi, Government College, Bhopal, Dr Hammad Usmani, Department of Anesthiology, JN Medical College, Professor FS Sheerani, Department of Kulliyat, Dr Shazia Jaleel, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, Mr Mazahir Qamar, Games Club, Mumbai and Dr Abdul Nasir Ansari, NIUM, Bangalore.
The inaugural and valedictory sessions were conducted by Dr Asia Sultana and Dr. Badarudduja Khan, respectively. Dr Mohd Anwar and Dr Asia Sultana proposed the vote of thanks in the two respective sessions.
