09-MAR-2016: In accordance with the initiative of Startup and Make in India campaign by the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, the Training and Placement Office (General), and Entrepreneurship Development Cell, ZH College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University in association with National Small Industries Corporation, implemented by Entrepreneurship Development Authority of India, have organized a three day Entrepreneurship Development camp for the Engineering Students of AMU.
The camp, organized under the aegis of National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board, Govt of India, is aimed at sensitizing the students towards self-employment and making them aware about the available Government facilities and initiatives for Entrepreneurship development.
Ms SMS Nalini, CGM, NSIC, while addressing the camp, mentioned the various schemes offered by the Govt of India in order to start a Business entity. She also described the importance and scope of Entrepreneurship as well as its benefits.
Dr Asfar Ali Khan, Registrar, AMU encouraged the students to explore Entrepreneurship as one of the options for career development. He cited various examples of successful Entrepreneurs who decided to do something different with the right strategy, and have made valuable contributions to the society. Dr Asfar also congratulated Mr Saad Hameed, TPO (General), AMU for taking the initiative to organize such camp where Govt officers and Entrepreneurs have provided proper guidance to the students in relation to setting up their own business.
Mr Saad Hameed said that the objective of the Placement cell of the University is not confined to providing jobs, but also to guide and help the students, while mapping their career in accordance with their interest and skills. He mentioned that the present Govt, under the leadership of Mr Narendra Modi, is pressing on the importance of Entrepreneurship development among the youth of the country and camps like these would help in making the students aware about the facilities and initiatives offered to them by the Govt. More Entrepreneurship development camps shall be organized in the future too, Mr Hameed added.
Mr. Abdul Jabbar, Manager, NSIC, while addressing the students, informed them about the technical and financial implications of a project report. He said that a project report holds importance while inviting investors and raising finances.
Mr Mukhtiyar Singh, Chief Manager, State bank of India informed about the loan, financial assistance and other incentives provided by the Govt of India directing towards helping the youth to start their own business.
A panel discussion was also organized which was attended by Mr Saad Majeed from Majeed Foods, New Delhi, Mr Hamza and Mr Sabir Shamoon, Dr Ahmad Faraz and the team of NSIC.
The students appreciated the initiative of the TPO and have demanded for more interactive sessions by young Entrepreneurs for professional guidance and mentoring.
Mr Faraz Khan, young Entrepreneur from New Delhi also addressed on the occasion.
Mr Mirza Anas Beg appraised about the objective of the Camp and Mr Shashank K Garg compeered the program.
