10-MAR-2016: Aligarh Muslim University girl students run NGO, 'Helping Hands Society' in collaboration with the Nodal Centre for Entrepreneurship Management Development, University Polytechnic recently organized a one-day workshop on 'Woman Entrepreneurship' at the Assembly Hall of the University Polytechnic. The workshop was organized in observance of 'International Women's Day'.
Mrs Sabiha Shah, wife of AMU Vice Chancellor Lt General Zameeer Uddin Shah (retd), who attended the workshop as Chief Guest spoke on the importance of the workshop theme with reference to Indian context.
She said that these workshops are very important for motivating the students.
The Guest of Honour, Ms Sai Nalini, Chief General Manager, National Small Industries Corporation Ltd, Technical Service Centre, Aligarh highlighted the important characteristics of entrepreneurs during her keynote address.
While sharing her field experience, Ms Nalini talked about availability of micro and small enterprises.
The resource person, Dr Saba Khan, Assistant Professor, Department of Home Science delivered a lecture on 'Women Entrepreneurship and Family Management'.
Prof S Iqbal Ali, Chief Coordinator, Nodal Centre for EMD, talked about entrepreneurial options available for women.
While delivering the welcome address, Mr Mohammad Yunus Khan, Coordinator Nodal Centre for Entrepreneurship Management Development, University Polytechnic said that the objective of the workshop is to develop sense of entrepreneurship among female students.
Ms Areeba Siddiqui, President, Helping Hands Society briefed the audience about the achievements of the NGO.
Meanwhile, a trailer of Mr Amaan Qasim's short film, 'Roshniee' based on women empowerment was also released during the workshop. The movie will soon be screened in AMU film festival, 'Filmsaaz-2016.
Ms Zaira Seraj Khan proposed the vote of thanks.
