12-APR-2016: Professor Saghir Afraheem, Department of Urdu, Aligarh Muslim University and Editor, Tehzeebul Akhlaq has been honored with the prestigious International Hindi-Urdu Literary award by the UP Govt. The award was presented to him by UP Governor Shri Ram Naik in a function held at Lucknow.
Professor Afraheem was presented with a shawl and a certificate by the Governor. While referring to Urdu and Hindi as the most spoken languages of India, Shri Naik said that such functions need to be organized on a continuous basis for bringing peace and harmony in the country.
Professor Afraheem said that literature is characterized by the love instead of hatred. He further said that the simultaneous prevalence of two languages could foster a peaceful environment and bring harmonious development in the country. Professor Afraheem told that the responsibility of ensuring such prevalence rests on the literature itself.
Previously Professor Afraheem was also nominated for Sughra National Integration award by the UP Govt which carries Rupees One Lakh as reward.
