21-JUN-2016: Professor Zuber Ahmad, Department of TB and Respiratory Diseases, JN Medical Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University has been reappointed as vice chairman of state task force for implementation of 'Revised National Tuberculosis Control Program' in medical colleges for a period of two years.
Prof Ahmad, who has been given this responsibility because of excellent work in his last tenure, will again supervise this program in all government and private medical colleges of Western Uttar Pradesh, including Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU and S N Medical College, Agra.
Prof Ahmad confirmed that CB NAAT machines for diagnosis of rifampicin resistance have been installed at various hospitals. Adding that one such machine has also been installed in the district hospital of Aligarh, he said that all diagnostic and treatment facilities are being provided free of cost to all TB patients.
He further confirmed that the MDR TB and Non MDR TB medicines have been distributed for free.
