06-SEP-2016: An Interactive Session on "How to Succeed in Civil Services?" was organized at University Polytechnic Auditorium under the aegis of Residential Coaching Academy, Aligarh Muslim University. The programme was started with the recitation of Holy Qur'an.
The IAS qualifiers Dr. Hossain Mehdi Rehman (IPS), Mr. Mohammad Arshad (IRS), Mr. Maqsood Ahmed (IPS) and Ms. Farah Hussain (IRS) motivated the students and shared tips on how to crack civil services. They particularly focussed on why students should opt for civil services and emphasized that aspirants should aim higher and believe in themselves. They shared the view that civil service helps in the betterment of community. Moreover, they shared their strategies and websites, books etc for cracking the prestigious exam. They also suggested students to read an English newspaper daily and to develop critical thinking. They said that one should have patience for achieving his/her goal. One should not hesitate with failure and work hard continuously to achieve the target. Also, Ms. Farah Hussain motivated the girl students to take up the exam, to face the society and other adversities. She shared her strategy and motivated to study in groups. These Civil Servants of 2015-16 batch were welcomed and presented memento as a token of honour from Residential Coaching Academy.
The Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah in his presidential remarks, said that if one wants to succeed, he or she had to give up the habit of gossiping and wasting time at local tea stalls. He talked about discrimination, mentioning that there is no discrimination except against the less educated. He told the students the key to success is having confidence in oneself, doing hardwork, deciding one's priorities. He emphasized on making the best use of time, and that moderation is the way to success. He further advised the students to have a positive attitude and shunning negative vibes. He asked students to try for coveted services of the country and be a part of nation building.
The Pro Vice chancellor addressed the youths particularly inspiring them to go for government services. He further mentioned that students should be clear with their aim, firm determined and resolute in their ideas and thoughts, identify their strengths and exploit them to the best, introspect their weaknesses and overtake them. He emphasised on maintaining a wide knowledge base, sharing it and understanding the methods of preparation.
Prof. Md. Kalimuddin Ahmad, Director, RCA welcomed the guests and dignitaries. He presented a brief introduction and short report of RCA. RCA has a long history, it was earlier working as Coaching and Guidance Cell, and has been serving University students to train and coach for various competitive examinations. RCA is established under a scheme of UGC, especially for minorities, SCs, STs and women.
Dr. Shoeb Ahmad and Dr. Arina Khan, Assistant Professors of RCA presented bouquet of flowers to guests and dignitaries. Prof. Syed Ziaur Rahman, Deputy Director, RCA conducted the program, while Dr. Asif Khan (Assistant Director, RCA) delivered the vote of thanks. Among dignitaries, who attended the program were Mr. Ashfaq Hussain, District Magistrate, Dausa, a city close to Jaipur, Mr. Liaqat Ali, IPS and former IG of Rajasthan, Prof. S. M, Jawed Akhtar, Finance Officer, AMU, Prof. Suhail Sabir, Chairman, Alumni Affairs Office, Prof. Saud Ali Khan, Principal AK Tibbiya College, Prof. Qamrul Huda Faridi and Dr. Iqbal Hussain of Urdu Department, Prof. Shahid Siddiqui, Chairman Department of Radiotherapy, Prof. Khalid Azam, Department of Business Management, Prof. Mohammad Afzal Ahmad, Department of Zoology, Mr. Khalid Hasan and Mr. T. R. Warsi of Dept. of Architecture.
After the program at University Polytechnic, Interactive Sessions were arranged separately at AMU Women's College and Residential Coaching Academy. Prof. Naima Khatoon, Principal of the AMU Women's College and Prof. Md Kalimuddin Ahmad, Director, RCA welcomed the distinguished guests who recently cracked civil services examination and coordinated the interaction with civil service aspiring students.
