05-OCT-2016: A consultative meeting of Aligarh Muslim University teachers, involved in activities of the Residential Coaching Academy (RCA) of AMU like counselling of students and identification of resource persons for different coaching programs of RCA, was held in the RCA Office recently.
Prof Abdus Salam, Prof S M Jawed Akhtar, Prof Waseem Ahmad, Prof Syed Ahmad Ali, Prof Rafiquzzaman, Prof Obaidullah Bokhari, Prof Abdul Latif, Prof Imteyaz Ashraf, Dr Mohd Irfan, Dr Hasan Imam, Dr Ali Jauhar, Dr Habibur Rahman, Dr Dastagir, Dr Wasim Ali, Dr Pervez Nazir and Prof Md Kalimuddin Ahmad attended the meeting.
During the meeting, members suggested the RCA Director, Prof Md Kalimuddin Ahmad to visit different departments and requesting teachers to engage students in RCA. The RCA authorities have confirmed that at least 30 UPPCS (Prelim) and 09 UPSC (Prelim) qualified students are preparing for their Mains exam in RCA and based on the optional papers of students, teachers will be requested to mentor these students.
RCA Director elaborated as how the students are being selected and given admission based on entrance tests and requested members to be a part of RCA's endeavour. He thanked the administration for their support in the all round development of RCA.
Members also appreciated the role of present administration for undertaking various developmental projects in the university and bringing AMU among the top universities of the country. They further resolved to support them whole heatedly in their endeavour in taking up minority character issue of AMU in the Supreme Court of India with utmost sincerity.
