25-OCT-2016: Malappuram Centre, Aligarh Muslim University celebrated the 199th Sir Syed Day with great enthusiasm and fervor.
While delivering the Keynote address, former AMU Vice Chancellor, Professor P K Abdul Azeez urged the Malappuram Center to become a centre of excellence in higher education with pluralistic and secular ideals enshrined in the Constitution of India.
During his speech, he eulogized the valid contributions of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and the Aligarh Movement in national integration and dissemination of secularism in our nation.
He said that a collective effort to develop the infrastructural facilities and starting new courses catering to the needs of contemporary society is the need of the hour.
During his address, Dr Viju Nayarangadi, Principal, Thunchan Memorial Government College, who was one of the luminaries of the event emphasised on AMU's academic magnificence during his speech.
Dr P Muhmamad, Director, Jamia Hamdrad off Campus Centre in Kerala exhorted everyone to work together to realize the dream of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan at Malappuram Centre.
While the Centre Director, Prof T N Satheesan presided over the function, the occasion was marked by the handing over of the new office automation software developed free of cost by Mr Rashid C, Technical Assistant to Prof T N Satheesan.
Mr Muhammad Azam Khan, Assistant Registrar of the Centre enumerated the recent developmental activities at the Centre.
Meanwhile, student winners of various literary and cultural events were awarded prizes. The events were conducted by Event Committee Convenor, Mohd Abu Shahid.
Mr Syed Ahmad Saad, Coordinator of Business Administration Department; Mr Noushik P C, Senior Hall Boys and Ms Surayya P, Senior Hall Girls delivered felicitations on the occasion.
The active participation of Proctor, Dr Faisal K P; Provost Ghalib Nashtar, DSW Dr Abdul Azeez; Dr Naseer; Mr Mohd Yashik; Warden Dr Fazila Shahnawaz; Dr Rahul Raghvan; Miss Neelam Faizan; Mr Shahnawaz Ahmed and all other teachers, students, ministerial staff, alumni and others made the event a grand success.
Mr Muhaseer and Ms Ramsha Tanvir conducted the programme. Dr Muhammed Basheer K, General Convenor of the Sir Syed Day Celebrations proposed the vote of thanks.
