03-NOV-2016: Professor Zulfia Khan, Retired faculty member, Department of Community Medicine, J N Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University has received the 'Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine Uttar Pradesh and Uttrakhand Chapter' Life Time Achievement Award â?? 2016 during the Annual Conference of the Association at the SRM Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences, Bareilly.
The award has been conferred to Prof Khan for academic excellence during her life time.
Prof Khan, who has served the Department of Community Medicine, JNMC in various capacities for 35 years is one of the senior most members of the Association in India. She has got more than 150 papers published in journals of international and national repute.
She has been Coordinator of the prestigious project 'Polio Eradication Programme- A collaborative Effort of AMU with UNICEF'. For her active role in polio eradication in India, she has been honoured by UNICEF and Rotary International.
She has worked as Principal and Co-principal Investigator in projects of Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi, Nuclear Power Corporation of India, U P State AIDS Control Society, and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
