04-NOV-2016.: The Maulana Azad Library has taken an important initiative in fulfilling Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah's dream of moving AMU to the number one spot in the Indian Universities rankings by organizing, 'Author Workshop' on 'How to Write and Publish Scholarly Articles'.
The Workshop was organized by Maulana Azad Library in collaboration with the world's largest publishing company, 'Springer Nature Group'.
Delivering the Inaugural Address as the Chief Guest, AMU Pro Vice Chancellor, Brigadier S Ahmad Ali said that the there is a necessity to publish papers in quality journals, which will lead to better citations and the impact will ultimately improve the reputation and ranking of the individual author and his institution.
Dr Nabi Hasan, the Coordinator of the event emphasized that writing good papers, giving good citations and H-Index for individual authors will easily take AMU to the number one spot.
He added that the deliberations of the workshop will help the AMU community to understand the science and art of writing and publishing scholarly articles which will eventually result in more publications and citations.
The visiting Springer Team, which delivered lectures on different aspects of the publishing activities of the company comprised of Mr Ashish, Ms Surbhee, Mr Kunj and Mr Indresh.
Noted writer, reviewer and authority in higher education, research and publication, Professor Payal Kumar conducted the workshop and thought provoking discussions on different aspects of publishing.
Ms Priya Vaidya, Library Intern was the anchor of the program, while Dr Ata Khurshid proposed the vote of thanks.
Over 300 faculty members and scholars and senior library professionals attended the workshop.
