15-NOV-2016: The Club for Short Evening Courses (CSEC), Aligarh Muslim University recently organized a lecture on 'Marginalization and Contemporary Political Narratives' at the Cultural Hall of the Maulana Azad Library. Dr Ashok Siddharta, MP, Rajya Sabha; Professor Vivek Kumar, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Dr Mohibul Haque, Department of Political Science, Aligarh Muslim University were the speakers during the programme.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr Ashok Siddharta talked about how important it is for the marginalized communities in India to get united.
"The marginalized communities should not only stand together, but they must fight for their rights together," said Dr Siddharta adding that it is imperative that the marginalized communities should think together to decide, which political party and movement is the best for the well-being.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mohibul Haque, said that the problem of communalism is from the British time, but it is now that it is taking a new shape of fascism for exploiting marginalized communities. Dr Haque also talked about India's glorious past from the days of Indus Valley Civilization.
Talking about the need of unity in the country, Dr Vivek Kumar said that the civilization is a mixture of different cultures, in which each culture has contributed in beautiful ways. He added that there is a great need to put a final stop on dividing people on the basis of the cultures, religions, ethnic backgrounds and linguistic orders among other things.
Mr Faisal Nadeem, Secretary, CSEC conducted the programme, while Professor Parvez Talaib, President, CSEC proposed the vote of thanks.
