02-DEC-2016: The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, J N Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University recently organised a 'Slogan Writing Competition' on the occasion of World AIDS Day. The competition took place in the seminar room of the department.
Professor M Ammanullah Khan, Dean, Dean Faculty of Medicine, who attended the programme as the Chief Guest gave useful suggestions on sampling and patient care.
Guest of Honour, Prof Haris Manzoor khan, Medical Superintendent talked about proper care while collecting and submitting samples to avoid any mishap and medico legal issues.
Prof M Shahid Khan, Dept of Microbiology, who also attended the function as a Guest of Honour talked about the necessary care, which should be given to an AIDS patient.
Prof Seema Hakim, Chairperson of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology delivered the welcome address, in which she said that HIV Positive people need regular treatment facilities with specialized care and not differentiation from others.
A total of eleven Senior and Junior Residents participated in the competition, which was judged by Prof Tamkin Khan and Prof Zehra Mohsin. The Chief Guests and the Guests of Honour later distributed prizes to the winners.
Dr Aleena Haider bagged the first prize, while Dr Mehkat Ansari and Dr Khushboo Bansal shared the second prize. Dr Harjeet Kaur, Dr Priyanka and Dr Arthy were given the third prize and Dr Sufiya and Dr Megha Solanki jointly shared the consolation prize.
All faculty members and non-teaching staff of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology were present on the occasion.
