20-DEC-2016: The three weeks Subject Refresher Course in Library & Information Sciences concluded at the UGC Human Resource Development Centre, Aligarh Muslim University. 40 University College teachers from various state including Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra and several cities of UP had enrolled for this course.
Emeritus Professor Farhatullah Khan, Department of English, AMU was the chief guest of the valedictory programme in which he distributed the certificates of participation. Addressing the gathering he said that librarians are the keepers of knowledge. He added that the Maulana Azad Library of the Aligarh Muslim University is one of the best libraries of the country and it has valuable traditions of documentation. He advised the participants to make strong bonds with books.
Professor Abdur Rahim Kidwai, Director UGC Human Resource Development Centre, AMU congratulated the participants on their success. He said that they should take back the lessons of social cohesion, neighbourly needs and equitable justice from the UGC HRDC, AMU. He said that the AMU has always been a citadel of secularism and tolerance.
Course Coordinator Prof. Naushad Husain, Department of Library & Information Sciences, AMU felicitated the certificates distribution to the course participants.
The Feedback opinion was given by Dr. Vinod V.M. from Kerala and Mrs. Sandhya Girish Yadav from Maharashtra. They said that their stay in Aligarh will be a cherished memory forever the prize for taking the maximum number of books from the library was awarded to Mr. Abdul Qadeer from Bareilly.
