AMU scholar, Dr Asim Azhar receives SERB IUSSTF to attend Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, US
Aligarh, March 9: Dr Asim Azhar associated with the Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit, Aligarh Muslim University has been selected for the Indo-US Postdoctoral fellowship by the prestigious SERB IUSSTF for one-year at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, Chicago, United States of America, where he will be working under the supervision of Dr David Everly Jr.
With the award, Dr Azhar will be provided a free travel to the United States, free medical expenses during the stay and a fellowship of Rs US$ 3000 for a period of 12 months. Dr Azhar?s Visa fees has also been waved off.
This is Dr Azhar?s second visit to the United States. He has earlier participated in the 6th SERPIN Conference held at the University of North Carolina in 2011.
Dr Azhar is presently pursuing postdoctoral research under the supervision of Professor M Owais at Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit at AMU with a Dr DS Kothari Fellowship awarded by University Grants Commission, New Delhi.
He has earlier participated in the 43rd Scandinavian Society for Immunology meeting held at Turku in Finland. He has also participated in the 15th Awaji International Forum on Infection and Immunity in Japan. Dr Azhar also regularly writes research papers for journals of national and international repute.
Dr Azhar has also been a reviewer of Scientific Reports (Impact Factor around 5.6), Nature Publishing Group.
