Division of the Paediatric Nephrology, JNMC organises programmes on ?World Kidney Day?
Aligarh, March 10: Division of the Paediatric Nephrology associated with the Department of Pediatrics, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University recently organised a number of outreached and educational programmes on the occasion of the ?World Kidney Day?.
Professor Kamran Afzal, in-charge, Division of the Paediatric Nephrology said that the Department has organised a quiz and poster-making competition, in which 110 MBBS students participated. He added that a health-camp for screening children with kidney diseases and a school health awareness programme was also organised, which was received by an overwhelming response.
Prof Afzal also delivered a lecture on ?Kidney Disease and Obesity? during the programme.
Dr Hameeda Tariq, President of Indian Academy of Paediatrics, Aligarh Branch distributed the prizes to the winners of quiz and poster-making competition.
MBBS students Ms Azra Fatima, Ms Afroz Fatima and Mr Shashank Verma won the first, second and third prizes respectively in the quiz competition; while Mr Danish Kamal, Ms Shruti Shandila and Ms Shruti Bansal shared the first prize in the poster-making competition. Ms Kulsum Alam, Ms Ayesha Sabih, Mr Faisal Harun, Mr Junaid Akhtar and Mr Shubham Upadhay won the second prize in the poster-making competition and the third prize was shared by Mr Hazique Jameel, Mr Arham Khan, Mr Mudassir Sulaiman and Mr Tahir Hussain Farouqui.
Prof Farzana K Beig, Chairperson, Department of Paediatrics; Dr Anoop Kumar; Dr Shahzad Alam; Dr Rasmiya Mohiyadheen; Dr Zafar Iqbal; Dr Neelkanth Sen and Dr Brajendra Singh were also present on the occasion.
