Viqar-ul-Mulk Hall concludes Bazm-e-Viqar 2017
Aligarh, March 14: Aligarh Muslim University?s Viqar-ul-Mulk Hall (V M Hall) recently concluded Bazm-e-Viqar 2017, Annual Literary and Cultural Festival of the Hall, which was held at the Marris Auditorium. More than 500 students from the university and various Aligarh based schools participated in 15 different competitions during the Festival.
Professor M Ilyas Khan, Chairperson, Department of Psychology, who attended the Valedictory Function as the Chief Guest, urged students to give their best in constructive activities. He also assured to put demands for renovation of historic Marris auditorium and the grave of the Viqar-ul-Mulk sahib at Amroha in next Executive Council meeting.
Dr Mehtab Alam Ansari, associated with AMU?s Department of Library and Information Science and Mr Ziaur Rab, Court Member, AMU graced the occasion as Guests of Honour. Meanwhile, Ms Afshan from the AMU Girls High School was a special guest.
During the welcome address, Prof Shadab Khurshid, Provost, V M Hall presented mementoes to the guests.
Mr Shahreyar Alam, Literary Secretary conducted the programme; while Mr Mohd Shikoh, Mr Abdul Hamid Mir, Mr Mudabbir Ali Chaudhary, Mr Sheth Zulfiqar, Mr Mohd Salman Shamsi, Mr Nooruddin Ahmad and Mr Mohd Afzal were instrumental in making organising the festival.
A highlight of the event was a panel discussion on the topic, ?Role of men in promoting women empowerment?.
Earlier, Prof Mehmood S Khan, Deputy Proctor attended the inaugural function of the programme as the Chief Guest; while Dr Sarwar Rais, Associate Professor associated with the Department of Geology was the Guest of Honour.
