15-MAR-2017: Prof M R Ajmal delivers guest-lecture at Ghalib Institute, New Delhi
Aligarh, March 15: Professor M R Ajmal, Chairperson, Department of Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) was recently invited to deliver a guest-lecture on ?Medical Profession and Social Responsibilities? at the Annual Conference of the Association of Muslim Doctors. The conference was held at the Ghalib Institute, New Delhi.
During the lecture, Prof Ajmal stated that medical decisions are not individual choices made by the physician and the patient, but choices that are influenced and constrained by contextual and external social, political, economic and family considerations.
?Physicians have a fiduciary duty to their patients and the medical schools of all nations must be inspired to train physicians aware of social realities of health and diseases,? said Prof Ajmal.
Senior doctors from all over the country India including Prof Khalilullah, MD, DM, Former Director, GB Pant Hospital, New Delhi; Prof M M A Faridi, Head of Pediatrics, UCMS & GTB Hospital, New Delhi; Dr Ajay Gambhir, President N N F; Prof Shakil A Kidwai, Head of Orthopedics, Eras Lucknow Medical College and Dr Ahmad Abdul Hai, Director General, Paras HMRI Hospital, Patna along with other renowned medical practitioners attended the conference.
